Sr. Database Administrator
Seeking a Senior Database Administrator to engineer data storage solutions and operate our production and development environments. In this role you will work across a number of different products, helping teams enhance products and implementing new applications and services. We use Java based technologies such as JSP, Wicket, Hibernate, JMS and JMX along with Tomcat, Maven, MySQL and Linux.
Major Responsibilities
• Database Administration
• Linux systems administration
• Develop and implement sustainable Database and data storage design
• Develop and implement designs that support High Availability and Scalable web apps on the order of 200,000+ transactions per second (TPS)
• Administration of Casandra, Zookeeper, and Hadoop environments
• Develop tools to improve database administration
• Scripting/Tools Development (Bash, SQL, PLSQL)
Skills & Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience with Database administration
• 5+ years of experience with Linux server administration
• 5+ years of experience with open-source technologies
• Experience with one or more of these languages: shell, Perl, Python, PHP, Java
• Experience working on geographically distributed teams
• Motivated, self-starter • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related major is highly desired
